The Water Tank Air-intake NBC-Filtration Unit is designed to filter chemical, biological, and nuclear contaminants from air that is pulled into a water storage tank to displace the water as the level recedes. The system reduces the need for periodic disinfection of water tanks against spores and other infectious agents, producing a large savings in maintenance costs.
The unit contains the NBC filter HF 90 C, which is thoroughly tested during production and assembly to provide complete filtration. Preceding the NBC filter is a fine dust filter that filters all passing air. Through electrical activation, the filtration unit ensures that the bypass valve of the NBC filter is closed and all air is forced through the NBC filter. During periods of inactivation, the NBC filter is sealed hermetically by each of the two three-way valves. This allows the NBC filter to keep the best performance properties for activation in a time of emergency.
