Emergency toilets are available from Beth-El that can be used within a mobile shelter / tent or within the latrine tent system. These toilets and systems provide a sanitary solution for single usage or for scores of people that need to be accommodated within a confined area for military or aid camps, official events, or in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
The dry toilet provides a very compact and hygienic solution without the need of water and chemicals. A special bag absorbs the waste and after use, the bag is sealed and disposed of.
The chemical toilet is a fully portable, freshwater flushing, toilet that can be used at any location lacking sanitary facilities. Together with the toilet, a cabin can accompany it for hanging into provisions of a tent.
The chemical toilet consists of two detachable sections:
- The upper section is a combined flush water tank and toilet bowl with a removable toilet seat and cover. The toilet is flushed by means of a manual pump.
- The lower section is the waste holding tank. When the waste level indicator moves into the red, the holding tank should be emptied.
As well, toilet fluids can be provided to prevent the build-up of unpleasant odours and breaking down the waste substances. When using the toilet in very cold environments, it is possible to add a non-toxic antifreeze to the flushing water of the toilet.
