The Improvised Transportable Collective Protection System (ITCS) is a collective, unhardened NBC protection system (NATO Stock No. 7690-17-113-1929) that can simply and quickly transform existing infrastructure (such as homes, schools, or military outposts, etc) into a Toxic Free Area (TFA). The system protects against NBC threat and from toxic industrial chemicals (TIC) such as tear gas, smoke, and other forms of air pollution. The ITCS is also capable of being erected outside of a building or tent.
The ITCS comes equipped with an airlock that has high purging rates to facilitate the entrance and exit of personnel during the collective protection system’s operation. Two FA 230/150 N-3 Air Filtration Units (NATO-Stock-No. 4250-99-324-0179) supply purified air into the clear tent liner, creating overpressure inside the TFA, which makes it possible to move freely inside the protected space without the need for gas masks or protective clothing. The entire ITCS system is completely self-contained, mobile, and highly versatile.
