Beth-El air conditioning systems for containers are modular units that are designed to work in conjunction with an NBC filtration system to provide humidity and temperature controlled clean air to any container compartment. The EPCS (Environmental Protection & Control System) type 60 SM-1 is a recent example of how Beth-El is able to integrate filtration, ventilation, and air conditioning technologies in ingenious and economically advantageous ways. The system starts with a highly efficient cyclone filter for heavy dust extraction, followed by an additional prefilter to clean any remaining dust and fine dust from the air entering the NBC filter stage.
These stepped filtration, air purifying, and air conditioning stages ensure the efficiency of the NBC filter and prolong the life of the filter and other sensitive components inside the protected compartment, even in harsh, dusty environments. The air conditioning system also re-circulates the air in the compartment, thereby dehumidifying the air, which contributes significantly to crew comfort, as well as power savings. The systems insensitivity to moisture also minimizes the aging process and adds tremendous benefits and extension to the filter’s shelf life — far beyond any other systems on the market today.
